Chrissy Rasmussen, better known as Hair by Chrissy to her 3.5 million TikTok followers, proudly charges a whopping $4,000 for a hair appointment at Habit Salon, which specializes in extensions and boasts a slew of influencer clients. Habit Salon has locations in Arizona and California, and counts TikTok stars Dixie D’Amelio, Mads Lewis, Nessa Barrett, and Olivia Ponton as well as Bravolebrity Ariana Biermann as clients. On social media, Chrissy embraces a wide range of hair trends, from mocha brunette to cowboy copper. Influencers and those who want to be just like them flock to her salons in hopes of getting the latest hairstyles, showing their transformations in all their glory with ring lights set up by the salon. But just because they’re booking an appointment with Chrissy doesn’t mean they’ll be getting the full experience, at least according to at least a dozen videos posted over the last few days. Not Famous quickly went viral after posting videos about her experience, documenting how she went to get extensions, color, and a cut. She was wildly disappointed when Chrissy, who she wanted to see, was apparently 'nowhere to be found.'

Ten Hands on One Look The Behind the Scenes Chaos

Not Famous’s clips captured the moment she went to get extensions, color, and a cut. She was disappointed when the person she wanted to see, Chrissy, was apparently 'nowhere to be found.' Instead, she claimed that about ten of her employees worked on her hair. The famed cosmetologist has 27 years of experience, while some of the other stylists are much earlier in their careers. "You walk in, she touches your hair, asks you what you want. Then, she tells everyone what to do on your hair." The disgruntled client said on social media: "The problem is, when you have ten people pulling your hair every way and dying your hair, they're all kind of on different pages." While she said Chrissy was involved in some aspects of her hair, she was not there from start to finish. She then shared a screenshot of her receipt, which came out to a whopping $4,216.61, including tip.

The Receipt That Revealed Hidden Costs and a $152.50 Shampoo Charge

According to the salon’s booking website, pricing for extensions starts at $1,500 and may increase based on your desired outcome. The content creator was excited and thought she was going to get her 'perfect hair.' In the end, the receipt showed $4,216.61, including tip. The final bill included charges for shampoo, treatment, detangler and serum, which added up to a shocking $152.50. She claimed on TikTok that she 'had no idea' she even purchased the products, and when a stylist put the products in a bag for her, she assumed they were complimentary. While she readily admitted that she loves the products and uses them every day, she did not realize they were not part of the cost. The displeased creator is offering up her own merch called Beckon Clothing, with hoodies, T-shirts and shorts ranging from $35 to $50 that proclaim 'Kindness is worth more than 4k.'

A Culture of Influencer Hair and Backlash A Glitzy Saga of Glamour and Controversy

This is not the first time Chrissy has gone viral. In 2020, she faced backlash online for allowing clients and employees to openly defy California's mask mandate inside her busy salon. Stars like The Bachelor contestant Amanda Stanton were even venturing to her Arizona salon to get their hair done during the lockdown. The Daily Mail reached out to Chrissy and @notfamous808 for a response.
